when in television, a show is sold to independant television stations, varying from city to city. Either that, or when a show can be seen on one network in one city, but another network in another city.
Family Feud used to be on WCAU-TV (CBS10, before 1995, when CBS and NBC switched from WCAU now nbc10 and KYW now cbs3), then when it went syndicated in 1999, it was on then-independant WGTW-TV (Channel 48), and now it is on WFMZ-TV (Channel 69).

Millioniare (Philbin) used to be on WPVI-TV (ABC6); now, Millionaire (Viera) used to be on KYW-TV (CBS3), now it's back on WPVI-TV. However, in Chicago, it's probably on their NBC station or something.
